Privacy Policy

Your typing results. When you take a test, we record the metrics from that run — such as your words per minute, characters per minute, accuracy, consistency, the test duration, and a per-second graph of your speed. For timed tests we also keep the passage you typed so you can review your mistakes.

Account information. You can use the site without an account. If you choose to sign in with Google, Google shares a basic profile with us — typically your name, email address and profile picture — along with a unique account identifier we use to store your results.

Usage data. We use analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate (for example, which pages are visited and general device information). This helps us improve the experience.

As a guest, your results are saved on your own device in your browser's storage. They stay with you and are not tied to any account — but clearing your browser data will remove them.

If you sign in, your results are also saved to our secure cloud database so they're kept safe and available whenever you return, on any device where you sign in with the same account. You can delete this history at any time from your history page.

• To show your results, history, personal best and progress over time.
• To keep you signed in and sync your saved results across your sessions.
• To understand overall usage and improve the site.
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal information. To run the site we use a small number of trusted providers who process data on our behalf:

• Google Firebase — for optional sign-in and for storing your saved results.
• Google Analytics — for aggregate, privacy-respecting usage statistics.
• Our hosting provider — to serve the website to your browser.

These providers may process your data in accordance with their own privacy policies.

We use your browser's local storage to remember your theme preference, keep you signed in, and hold your results. Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers. We do not use advertising cookies, and there are no ads on the site.

• Use the site entirely as a guest, without an account.
• Sign out at any time from the account menu.
• Clear your saved history from your history page.
• Request deletion of your account data by emailing us.

Guest results remain on your device until you clear them. Signed-in results remain in our database until you delete them or ask us to remove your account data.

The Typing Hub is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date above. Significant changes will be reflected here.
